Why Should Anyone Have to Pay for Online Digital Newspaper Content That Is Politically Bias?

Many newspapers like the New York Times are moving towards pay-walls and online digital subscription based content. Still, I dare to ask; why should I pay. You might say because they have costs, reporters and news, especially good journalism, and thus, it has value and should cost something right? Well, okay, let's take your thesis and discuss why this isn't necessarily the case these days.

You see, as a quasi-news junkie or a recovering one you might say, I am literally (pun intended) blown away by the left-leaning slanted news these days. No, I guess in hindsight and after much research I not all that surprised, after all, most of those who work in journalism at that level had to pass the gateway requiring a degree in journalism and thus, went to college and were instructed by left-leaning professors, so they have no clue as to what it means to be non-bias, and assume that they are actually middle of the road. They are not.

Should we therefore give them a passing grade out here in the real world? No, I don't believe so, regardless of a given reporters or news professionals ignorance, it shouldn't be an excuse for slanting the news towards a socialist bend. Think about it. Now then, when one considers this we start to understand why some large newspapers are losing subscribers and losing money, as they have inadvertently alienated half of their potential consumers. The business world is competitive enough, and there is no sense in allowing a purposeful bias to further destroy your business model.

Am I saying that the news media, especially the newspaper business, is hasting its demise? Yes, and no thanks to the highly disruptive news aggregator websites online, which make it even harder to entice folks to stop and register at a paywall when they are several other articles available at no cost listed right alongside.

Consider this, talk is cheap, and opinions art quite common amongst humans, they are like a buttocks orifice; everybody has one - so, if your newspaper is filled with opinion then those who are bothered by a given point of view will quickly tire of what they see as an obvious attempt to convince them of something against their will - no one likes that, and no one really wants to pay for it. Except many of those who take out 10s of 1,000s of dollars in student loans only to be brainwashed by a socialist agenda holding a degree that will not suffice for gainful employment - but I digress and will save that for another article. Glad to have made you think today.
